You have just download icons,
how can you use them ?
The explination below just work for folders, files or applications icons, not for default system folder icons or Finder and Trash icons in the Dock.
First, you need to decompress the archive. All of the sets available from ICONS MAC X are in .zip format. By a simple double-click on the archive the Mac OS X system (since Panther, if I remember well) will automatically open and decompress the archive. If you are using a version of Mac OS X that is not able to decompress these files, use the Stuffit Expander application.
This done, no
w you have a folder of icons. To apply them to your folders, files, or applications click on the icon you want to use. On the File menu, select "Get Info" or press "Command-i" (Command it's the key with the apple). A new window appears with a little icon, click on the icon as shown in the image. The icon is now surrounded by blue. Select "Copy" from the Edit menu or press "Command-c". You can now close this window. Select in the Finder the folder, file or appliction whose icon you would like to change. Select "Get Info" or press "Command-i", click on the icon in the window and chose "Paste" from the Edit menu or press "Command-v". The icon should now have changed and you can close the window.
To change the icon on folder, file or application you need to have write permissions. If you are not agree with the changes you can undo your action, bring up the "Get Info" window for the object you would like to undo change. Click on the icon in the window, select in the Edit menu "Cut" or press "Command-x". The new icon will be deleted and the ancient (the default icon) will reappears.
